about

On Sunday, December 9, 2018, MH the Verb hosted a jam session with his ArtHouse95 Collective to record live at Turtle Studios in Philadelphia. The original purpose of the session was to record new music for MH's upcoming 3rd album, however, the band had time to sneak in a few live reinterpretations of songs from MH the Verb's back catalog.

The first single, "Aliens Prefer Jazz" is a smooth jazzy-take on MH's song, "She Prefers Jazz" (previously released in 2016, originally produced by Ogi Feel The Beat). The song also features an updated second verse and an entrancing solo from Trap Rabbit keyboardist, Logan Roth.

The project's second track, "More Time" is an unrecorded crowd favorite from MH's live shows. The song's chant of "What would you do with a little more time?" is beautifully mixed over Johann Sebastian's deep spacey bass. The song also highlights the percussion work of Arjun Dube and features Christine Elsie on background vocals and harp.

However, the EP's grand finale is a 7+ minute afro-funk inspired opus, "Small World", which MH wrote as a poem in 2010 and never recorded. The song features an vibrant and colorful intro showcasing the otherworldly musicianship of the ArtHouse95 collective.
